Staying Open to Serendipty

This jacket taught me a thing or two about Serendipity, in one of the most unexpected places. If you have followed me for long, you know pink is my symbolic color of hope, and embracing hope is a daily choice I strive for.

It took me years to believe in it, to look past my grief and hard days, and realize there is such a beautiful life worth fighting for.

When I headed to France last year our first visit to a place of old was Beynac Castle, an ancient town in my terms, full of echoes of the past. One of its characteristics was how steep its roads were because of how high it sits overlooking everything. We were driven to the top parking deck and opted to walk down, not realizing how brutal of a descent it would be.

Thankfully, there were tiny little shops nestled around crooks and turns every so often and about half way down one caught my eye that had shiny bits in the window. As my foot crossed the threshold I looked up and there on the first rack hung this jacket, as if it was placed and expecting me.

Being open to wonder and serendipity is a way I move through the world now. It doesn't mean I expect everything to be unicorns and rainbows, but it does mean I stay open to the belief that there are objects of delight in my path, even across the globe, waiting for me, or right out my front door.

As hard as moments are lately for so many, I hope you find your own little reminder of pink hope! Will be uplifting you all for that!

Happy Monday!
